Everyone in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community is invited to attend any of the weekly meals served by St. Theresa’s Bread & Broth organization in St. Theresa’s Grace Hall.  The Monday Meal is a full-course, hot, nutritious dinner served from 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Friday’s Second Serving meal offers a simple entrée and soup served from 4 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.   In addition to providing delicious meals, dinner guests are provided the opportunity to take home a food “giveaway” bag containing a variety of foods including fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, canned goods, and breads and pastries.

These meals and food giveaways are made possible by a variety of funding sources and food donors including local stores and businesses, farmer’s markets, private donors, and grants.  However, the primary funding source for the Monday Meal is B&B’s Adopt a Day of Nourishment program.  Adopt A Day sponsors donate $300 to host a meal and send a sponsor crew to help serve at their sponsorship dinner.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort was the Adopt A Day sponsor for the July 15th Monday Meal and Kirkwood team members Joan Gibson, Patricia Maas and Armando Shalhoub volunteered their time to help at Kirkwood’s sponsorship dinner.  “Having just moved to the Tahoe area, I was so excited to have the opportunity to give to our local community,” shared Patricia.  “What a wonderful way to serve others and do good!  All the guests and volunteers were so thankful and hospitable. This evening truly warmed my heart.”
