SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Bread & Broth’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorship was hosted by Forest Suites Resort on Monday, March 13. Thanks to their AAD donation of $300 and sending an excellent sponsor crew to the Monday Meal dinner, over 74 dinners were served to the very grateful folks who came for a hot and tasty meal and the bags of food provided to those who join B&B’s weekly meal for dinner.

The Forest Suites Resort Adopt A Day crew spends their working hours making sure that their resort guests receive all the services and amenities that make their stay at the resort and South Lake Tahoe a wonderful experience. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Heavenly team members from The North Face retail store in Heavenly Village joined the Bread & Broth volunteers to provide a hot and filling meal, bags of giveaway food, and a special treat to the diners at the Monday Meal on Feb. 6.

The North Face crew, consisting of Timothy Acosta, Eric Belz, Donice (Dede) Lehnhardt, Darcy Nealis, and Colleen Nicolich, arrived at St. Theresa Grace Hall with several boxes of The North Face gloves, hats, and other winter apparel which they gave out to the dinner guests during the evening meal service. Those receiving The North Face clothing items were very grateful for the warm, winter clothing.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The women of the Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra are dedicated to serving others especially in their efforts to enhance the lives of women and youth both in our community and the world. It is a service organization that through their fundraising activities provides scholarships to women and young girls to enhance their ability to succeed academically. In addition, the organization funds and participates in many local school events that benefit the youth of our community.

On Monday, Jan. 31, SITS extended its mission to help and enhance the lives of members in the Lake Tahoe South Shore community by sponsoring a Monday Meal through Bread & Broth’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment program.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Bread & Broth could not be more thankful to the many individuals, families, organizations, and businesses that support our efforts to ease hunger in the Tahoe South Shore community.

The $300 donation made by our Monday Meal Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsors is a big help in defraying the cost the food, supplies, and utility costs of the hot, full-course dinners held every Monday evening.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — The mission of the Kiwanis International organization is to strengthen the community and serve children. In meeting these goals, the local Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra sponsors and participates in various service events such as their Kid’s Reading program, Backpack Giveaway, and Coats for Kids. Bread & Broth’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorship is also one of the community events that the Kiwanis Club supports on an annual basis.

This year, the club sponsored Bread & Broth’s Monday Meal on Jan. 9 and sent a contingent of their club members to help the Bread & Broth volunteers provide a hot and very tasty meal to evening’s dinner guests. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Bread & Broth’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment program invites individuals, families, service clubs/organizations, and businesses to sponsor a B&B Monday Meal which serves our dinner guests a hot, full-course, nutritious dinner at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall.

To sponsor an Adopt A Day, a $300 tax-deductible donation is made and the sponsor is encouraged to send up to five sponsor volunteers to assist the B&B volunteers with the dinner’s setup, serving, and cleanup at their designated Monday Meal.

The program began in 2011 and has successfully been providing the sponsors and their crews the opportunity to participate in a truly rewarding volunteer experience that has a meaningful impact on those we serve…Read more
