SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Providing a free and hot dinner to individuals or family members who may be food insecure or just in need of a nutritious meal, is a wonderful way to support the community. Every Monday, Bread & Broth provides the opportunity to sponsor a meal through its Adopt A Day of Nourishment program and on Monday, April 15, the HEROs’ organization from the Harah’s and Harveys’ casinos hosted a meal in their efforts to show their support for their fellow community members.
The HEROs’ organization was established many years ago as ‘Harrah’s Employees Reaching Out.’ Over the past 10 years, the HEROs has been hosting 3-4 Adopt A Days annually, and many of the two casino employees have participated by volunteering 3 hours of their time to ‘reach out’ and help those who come to enjoy the hot meals served at the HEROs’ sponsorship dinners.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to serve our community,” was the quote collectively provided by the evening’s HEROs crew which included Janice Dill, Sherry Newberger, Krysteena Palaroan, Heather Redlark, and Darlene Winkelman.
