Rotary Club Serves Community

“Helping out at Bread & Broth is a great experience,” exclaimed Rotarian Brian Williams.   Brian shared his feelings while volunteering at the Monday Meal sponsored by the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club on February 11th.  “We are all human beings that are subject to life’s twists and turns.  Offering a hot meal and a smile to people in our community who are having a rough time is our obligation.”

Sharing a meal with others in need of a hot dinner, and a warm and safe environment, is a heartwarming way to experience fulfillment through service.  As a service organization, the Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club members have been partnering the with B&B to serve others for several years.   Approximately every 2 months, the Rotary Club sponsors an Adopt A Day of Nourishment and members from the Club donate their time to assist B&B volunteers in providing a nutritious meal to those in need.

The Rotarians who come to volunteer at B&B’s dinner are always happy and helpful and ready to assist the B&B volunteers with any chore from packing food ‘giveaway’ bags to manning the serving lines to stacking tables and chairs.  On February 11th, B&B was fortunate to have Rotarians Kristi Kandel, Pamela and Bill Kelly, John McLaughlin, along with Brian Williams, join us at the dinner.   Thanks for the great job and for being a part of an organization that serves others.
