After being raised in a small town in Germany, Sabine moved to Columbus Georgia, at the age of 16. After high school she attended Columbus State University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mathematics with Concentration in Computer Science and her Master’s of Public Administration with Concentration in Justice Administration.
After she received her undergraduate degree, she started working as a Software Analyst for TSYS, one of the largest Payment processing companies in the US.
Work opportunities eventually led Sabine and her husband Tom to live in Fremont, CA. While living there, they fell in love with Tahoe. In 2018, they moved to South Lake Tahoe permanently. Sabine and Tom have 2 daughters, both of whom also volunteer for Bread & Broth.
Sabine enjoys walking her dogs, hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing and watching her daughters play soccer. She loves Tahoe for its peacefulness and beauty.
Sabine’s first experience volunteering for Bread & Broth began in August 2018, when she became a Monday Meal’s team coordinator. In March 2020 when the Monday Meal hot meal service was suspended due to Covid-19, Sabine took over one of the Monday food packing team lead positions and has led her team in packing bags of food every other Monday until March 2022. In April 2022, she went back to being a Monday Meal team coordinator. In May 2021, Sabine also started to get involved in packing bags for the B&B 4 Kids Backpack Program and is now one of five team leads. In October 2021, Sabine joined the B&B’s Advisory Broad as Bread & Broth’s Director.
